Vain Regrets

Death may come, yes death may come
and find me standing all alone

and death may do me violence
and death may take my home

but temporal death is not my fear
I fear the life that I live here.

Do I ever in ignorance
waste my time and waste my chance

and do I understand the truth
or fall to heedlessness of youth?

If tomorrow I should die,
would vain regrets my coffin line?
