Needs

So you want comfort from me?
Yet you still refuse to see
nor do you seem to believe
I too have needs.

I can't tell you how I feel.
You don't share in my ideals.
I need alone time now and then
just to feel like a person again.

But you think you know what's best for me?
How ignorant and arrogant can you be?

I need time to think things through.
I need time to make and do.
I need time to reach my goals
I need time to heal my soul...

But you always have to come first.
Even when my needs are at their worst
and I need time and space to heal.
You care most about how YOU feel.
