The Home Remedies manual would dovetail into the Daedalus project in the parts that call for medical and hygiene care. It is likely fiber arts would go hand in hand with the home remedies manual since cotton, linen, jute and other such items are plant derivatives. It is likely gardening/farming would also be grouped with these.

  People stranded must resort to older methods of heating, cooking, smelting etc. Current technology has all but eliminated skills that were once essential for all people to know. It is possible to survive without fires, but more comfortable and convenient with them.

Rope making
Fiber arts of all sorts depend on the basics of twisting loose fibers into strands, then twisting or braiding them into rope or yarn. The basic theory is the same for rope, yarn, thread or hair braiding. Many useful fibers exist besides hemp, cotton and wool. Some are more difficult to separate into useable resources, hence are not used as much because they require more effort. In ropemaking, ideally you would want to stick with the strongest, best fibers, but resourceful people will find ways to make rope and other useful items from unlikely sources.

This book aptly captures the effect technology is having on our social structure. Books were once as revolutionary as computers. Who uses scrolls anymore? Scrolls were more portable than stone tablets, and stone tablets were more portable than mud, sand and stone walls. They are all ways of conveying ideas, expressing them to other people.

This book exemplifies changes happening in the minds of children, people who will sometime be expected to carry on our cultural heritage. Why be surprised if they don't read if we abandon that technology? Why be surprised if our children play games, if that is what we do or what we hand them to do or even if we keep those things away from them?

Each profession has its own style of thought. Novices make mistakes because of inexperience. Writing authors stress mechanics rather than writers' sense. The ultimate reason for bad writing is the tendency to think of self and therefore write primarily for self.
This is unconscious writing. Genuine writing is communication between two or more people.Successful communication depends on the motive of the writer and the feelings of the reader.
