Old receipts

Your text goes here...
This is a receipt.  It looks like trash to throw away, and probably should be and will be, but it represents a reference point in time.  This receipt was made the day after your birthday, December 7, 2013. Robert and Grandpa were still alive.  I was driving the van.  It is 8:17 pm and I stopped at the Del Taco in North Orem on the way home from TelePerformance.  I was still on the Nintendo team and had worked a long shift I think.  BMTH was still with me.  Henry was a junior at Mountain View.  Summer had left in August promising to return.  I was still hoping. The kids were still going on visitations through ACAFS. I was still in school.  You and Daniel were in the apartment in North Orem and Helena was almost here.  It is amazing how a tiny scrap of paper like a receipt will trigger memories instantaneously.  Not just memories, all of the hopes, trials and regrets that go with them.  Never underestimate the value of a simple receipt or anything else that documents time, place or event.  Receipts verify dates, times, places and purchases without any embellishments.  The rest of the details are all in our minds
